Brett Meeks is the Executive Director of the Health Innovation Alliance.
He leads the Alliance on its policy positions. Brett is an expert on issues related to a new federal data infrastructure and rules related to the privacy, use, and exchange of health data.
Brett brings a wealth of experience to HIA, most recently as Deputy Health Policy Director of the Senate HELP Committee where he helped write the 21st Century Cures Act, which outlawed information blocking, the business practice of refusing to share information for legitimate healthcare needs. The law also established interoperability standards and reformed privacy rules for personal health information.
Brett is a graduate of the University of Virginia, the National Defense University, and the University of Mississippi School of Law.
