Join the AHRQ Health Care Innovations Exchange for a live TweetChat with Dr. Rebecca Weintraub Brendel and Dr. Benjamin Miller. We will discuss how the Boston Red Sox Foundation has teamed with Massachusetts General Hospital to support veterans with PTSD and their families. The Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program was created in 2009 to serve Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and families affected by combat or deployment-related stress and traumatic brain injury (TBI) — the “invisible wounds of war.” The Home Base Program provides clinical care and support services for service members, veterans, and their families throughout New England; offers community education about the “invisible wounds of war” and the challenges facing military families; and conducts research to improve understanding and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder and TBI.
