Beverley H. Johnson serves as the President and CEO of the Institute for Patient and Family-Centered Care and has over 25 years of experience in organizational development and management. She has worked as a health professional providing direct care in hospitals, managing a hospital unit, and teaching. She has served as a trustee of a hospital, national health care organization, and a school board. In these trustee roles, she has chaired and served on strategic planning committees and had fiduciary responsibility for nonprofit organizations. She has provided technical assistance and consultation to over 250 hospitals across the United States and Canada. Michael Tuggy, MD, is a Clinical Professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and a rural family physician in the mountain valley in Winthrop, WA. He received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, then completed his Family Medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. He served for seven years on active duty in the U.S. Army including service in Iraq and Kuwait during the first Gulf War.
While the president of Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, Mike joined other leaders in family medicine to develop the strategic plan for family medicine that is now being implemented by Family Medicine for America’s Health. He is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Family Medicine for America’s Health.
