Michael Tuggy, MD, is a Clinical Professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and a rural family physician in the mountain valley in Winthrop, WA. He received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, then completed his Family Medicine residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA. He served for seven years on active duty in the U.S. Army including service in Iraq and Kuwait during the first Gulf War.
While the president of Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, Mike joined other leaders in family medicine to develop the strategic plan for family medicine that is now being implemented by Family Medicine for America’s Health. He is the Vice-Chair of the Board of Family Medicine for America’s Health.
