In April 2015, Explorys was acquired by IBM as an integral component of the newly formed Watson Health business unit. Lisa Bari is the health IT lead in the Seamless Care Models Group at the CMS Innovation Center. Lisa's background combines health policy, health IT, and more than a decade of technology-focused marketing and communications strategy. Prior to entering public service at CMS, Lisa was the executive head of marketing and growth at Practice Fusion, the primary care EHR. She earned an MPH in health policy and public health leadership from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and an MBA from Purdue University. At CMS, Lisa wrote and implemented health IT policies for the Comprehensive Primary Care Plus Model, a unique payment and delivery system model for 3,000 primary care practices across America.

Steven E. Waldren, MD, MS is the VP and Chief Medical Informatics Officer at the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is a nationally recognized expert in health information technology and has over 15 years of experience. Prior to joining the AAFP, Dr. Waldren was a National Library of Medicine Medical Informatics Postdoctoral Fellow at the Univ. of Missouri, Columbia; at which time, Dr. Waldren earned a master’s degree in Medical Informatics. Dr. Waldren is also a residency trained family physician.
