Rodger Kessler is an Assistant Professor  in the Department of Family Medicine and the Center for Clinical and Translational Science in the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He is Director of Primary Care Behavioral Health at Fletcher Allen Health Care Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) project. In this role he has designed, implemented and evaluated the effectiveness of three Fletcher Allen PCMH collaborative practices, with four others in development. He is Research Director of the Collaborative Care Research Network (CCRN), a sub network of the National Research Network (NRN), and Senior Scientist of the American Academy of Family Medicine. He is Principal Investigator of a recently completed survey of all National Council of Quality Assurance certified Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) investigating PCMH response to mental health, substance abuse and health behavior services need. He is co investigator on an AHRQ R-24 AHRQ to conduct research in a national sample of Collaborative Care practices. He has edited, Collaborative Medicine Case Studies: Evidence in Practice, published by Springer Publishers and is currently working on his next Springer book, Mental Health in the Patient-Centered Medical Home: Design, Processes and Outcomes. With colleagues Christine and Chris Hunter, he will be an editor of Health Psychology in the Medical Setting, also with Springer. He has over 50 other publications to his credit. He is a senior editor of the new Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM) journal Translational Behavioral Medicine:  Practice, Policy, Research and Associate editor of the journal Clinical Psychology in Medical Settings and consulting editor of Professional Psychology Research and Practice and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Psychology and Family Systems and Health. In March of 2009 he edited a special issue of the Journal of Clinical Psychology in Medical Settings on Collaborative Behavioral Health in Primary Care.
