Dr. Kevin Wheeler is Medical Director for Practice Transformation and Value-Based Contracting Strategy for the AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies. A board-certified Emergency Physician, Dr. Wheeler also practices part-time in an underserved, rural, critical access hospital in northern New Hampshire, one of the markets served by the Medicaid Managed Care operations of AmeriHealth Caritas.

Prior to joining AmeriHealth Caritas, Dr. Wheeler served as Executive Director and Chief Medical Officer of Boston Medical Center Health Plan’s product in New Hampshire. He also planned and implemented an operational turnaround in Utilization Management and Pharmacy Services for CareMore, a division of Anthem’s Diversified Business Group.

Dr. Wheeler holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Florida, and he is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine. He trained in Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center and currently lives in northern Virginia with his two sons.
