The Healthy Tomorrows Partnership for Children Program (HTPCP) is a cooperative agreement between the federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Federal grants of $50,000 per year for up to five years are awarded through the program to support community-based child health projects that improve the health status of mothers, infants, children, and adolescents by increasing their access to health services.

A new report on a Center for Healthcare Decisions program provides insight into the public’s willingness to restructure Medicare in the face of tightening budget constraints. Using an interactive, computer-based system, program participants faced the challenge of making Medicare more responsive to the needs of current and future beneficiaries.
Our country currently faces a physician workforce shortage. Factors that contribute to our current challenge are numerous, and are only compounded by decades of neglect, misalignment of priorities and resources in medical education, and the inherent financial interest and competition between parties in the health care industry.
