The Innovation Center at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently opened the application period for primary care practices interested in participating in the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative (CPC) a multi-payer initiative fostering collaboration between public and private health care payers to strengthen primary care. The application period closes at 5:00 p.m.

Earlier, this month, the Innovation Center announced that it will be accepting applications for an additional round of Advance Payment Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) that would begin in January, 2013.Organizations interested in this round of the Advance Payment ACO Model should start their application process by submitting a Notice of Intent to apply for the Medicare Shared Savings Program performance period that begins January 1, 2013. This Notice of Intent is due this Friday, June 29, 2012.
