Wellness & Prevention

As primary care moves towards a quality based system, the overall goal is to improve patient wellness. Care extends beyond just clinical symptoms. The primary care team should be able to assist patients improve their overall wellbeing, in addition to traditional healthcare. This adds towards the idea that primary care should not just be treating sick people.  Rather, there should be a greater emphasis on preventing people from getting sick. However, this takes the collaboration of several team members, and further proves the importance of an effectively coordinated care team.
