In April 2013, the SAMHSA-HRSA Center for Integrated Health Solutions released a new report that demonstrates how the integration of healthcare is essential to improve the individual's experience of care, improve the health of the general population, and reduce per capita healthcare costs. This issue brief reviews levels of integrated healthcare and proposes a functional standard framework for classifying sites according to those levels.
