Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Education Series

Online webinars

Although patients with rare conditions are primarily cared for by sub-specialists, the initial care pediatric patients receive in the medical home helps establish early diagnosis. Early diagnosis can inform prognosis, service planning, and monitoring for associated developmental and medical conditions. This free education series on PediaLink includes 5 modules highlighting the updated care considerations and emerging therapies related to the care and management of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) (Pediatrics Supplement, October 2018). The series emphasizes the common issues affecting children with DMD and the role of pediatricians, other physicians, nonphysician clinicians, and allied health professionals as effective partners in providing coordinated care for individuals living with DMD. Each of the modules are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part 2.

The webinars in this 5-part education series focus on primary and specialty care for patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). Through this education series, pediatricians will be better informed about emerging therapies related to the care and management of patients with DMD. Further, they will be able to identify common issues affecting children with DMD. Finally, emphasis is placed on the valuable role of both primary care medical home and sub-specialty providers in coordinating effective treatment for patients with DMD.
