Steven Silverstein, M.D., FACEP is Vice President and Chief Clinical Architect for McKesson Health Solutions and RelayHealth. Steve is responsible for the accuracy and currency of clinical content for McKesson Health Solutions and RelayHealth across multiple products, services, and delivery models. His primary areas of focus are the development and delivery of decision management and clinical decision support tools, including InterQual and related products, care management programs and services, telephonic and online patient triage, and education in the areas of medications, chronic conditions, and general health information for consumers and health care professionals. He is responsible for the clinical integrity of all of our decision management products.
Steve joined Access Health (now part of McKesson) in 1996, after 12 years as a writer, editor, and director for Micromedex, Inc., a leading publisher of medication and clinical databases used in poison centers, emergency department, and hospital and retail pharmacies.
Steve also practiced emergency medicine for over 20 years, has an extensive background in professional and consumer health care informatics, telemedicine, utilization management, and emergency medical services, and is the author of numerous publications. He graduated from Harvard College and Cornell University Medical College, is residency trained and board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine in Massachusetts, Colorado, and California.
