Dr. Bob Chestnut is the Chief Medical Executive Director for Cummins Inc. Dr. Chestnut played a key role in Cummins’ strategies and procedures for the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Chestnut’s expertise in Occupational and Environmental Health as well as Family Medicine has positioned him well to protect the safety of employees and improve their whole health. Dr. Chestnut works with other key leaders within Cummins to support the physical, mental, social, and financial well-being of employees and their families. Dr. Chestnut leads the Global Clinical Operations Team, including 35+ onsite medical clinics at Cummins sites throughout the world. Dr. Chestnut serves on Cummins’ Disability Inclusion Advisory Board with a primary focus on building a strategy and key partnerships for healthy, safe, and inclusive work design. Dr. Chestnut is an educator and public speaker. He provided testimony at the 2022 Senate Hearing on Food as Medicine.
Dr. Chestnut earned his Medical Doctorate and Master’s degree in Occupational Health at the University of Utah. He is residency trained and board-certified in both Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Family Medicine. Dr. Chestnut was a founding member of University of Utah’s Bench to Bedside program—an intensive experiential learning program that brings together interdisciplinary teams of innovators comprised of healthcare professionals, students, investors, and industry experts focused on identifying and creating solutions for unmet needs in healthcare.
