Jim Pantelas is a 13 year, late-stage lung cancer survivor, the father of three young daughters and a veteran. Since his diagnosis, he has been active in a variety of roles in research and healthcare settings. He has significant experience in peer support in the adult lung cancer world and in the pediatric cerebral palsy world. He is involved at the national level on many initiatives including as PCORI Ambassador and as a member of the Leadership Panel Lung Cancer Research Foundation, a non-profit lung cancer support and research organization. He represents the patient perspective in their research funding efforts.
