Kellie currently serves as the Project Manager of Consumer and Community Engagement at Maine Quality Counts (QC), a regional health improvement collaborative for the Northern New England Practice Transformation Network initiative. Kellie has a particular interest in building partnerships between public health/community support organizations with traditional health systems. She was the lead developer of an online educational module, “Improving Patient Outcomes with Cost of Care Conversations in the Clinical Practice”, the Implementation Toolkit for Practice Teams, “Using Choosing Wisely Tools to Empower Patients”and assisted in the development of the online module for patients and consumers, “Spend Your Health Care Dollars Wisely”.
Kellie holds a Master’s Degree in Health Education from Purdue University, with several years of experience in the non-profit sector as the Executive Director of the American Lung Association of Indiana, Executive Director of the Maine Osteopathic Association, Director of Public Health Policy at the Maine Medical Association, as well as the Director of Continuing Medical Education at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Her passion is in supporting patient and family engagement strategies and developing tools and resources to engage patients/consumers/clinicians and practice teams, that not only improve the shared decision making encounter in the clinical visit, but also leads to making smart and effective health care choices to improve health care outcomes.
