Monica Horton

Monica E. Horton, MPP, is the Associate Executive Director of the Practice Management and Delivery Innovations department at the American Osteopathic Association.  She is responsible for building relationships with osteopathic physicians and payers to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of osteopathic medical practices.  Her department consults and educates osteopathic physicians and the osteopathic community on business of medicine issues involving payment, health care delivery and regulatory compliance.

 Ms. Horton has expertise in health policy analysis, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer proposals.  Prior to her position at the AOA, Ms. Horton served eleven years as a Senior Policy Analyst for in the Health Policy Department of the American Medical Association, focusing on a range of socioeconomic and payment issues. Ms. Horton received her Master in Public Policy and Certificate in Health Policy and Administration from the University of Chicago and her Bachelor of Arts in General Science-Biology from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
