Cheryl Fish-Parcham is Director of Access Initiatives at Families USA. In this role she focuses on public policies that would improve access to coverage and care. She has substantial expertise in both private insurance and Medicaid policy. At present she serves on advisory committees to the Washington, D.C. Department of Insurance and the D.C. Health Care Ombudsman. She is also a reviewer for the Academy of Health’s Annual Research Meeting and a frequent lecturer at Catholic University’s National School of Social Service.
Previously at Families USA, she served as Associate Director of Health Policy and also helped establish the Health Assistance Partnership (HAP). Throughout her time at Families USA and HAP, Cheryl has authored numerous reports on a range of health policy issues.
Earlier in her career, Cheryl worked as an advocate at AARP’s Legal Counsel for the Elderly and served as an advocate, administrator, and social worker for several community organizations in the District of Columbia. Cheryl holds a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Cruz and an MSW from Howard University.
