Talking with Caregivers about Overuse: A Guide for Clinicians

This webinar covers factors facing conversations about overuse with patients and caregivers, and provides specific tools and strategies for improving the outcome of those conversations.

Kelly Rand is a Program Manager at the ABIM Foundation. In this role, she oversees activities related to grants and the Choosing Wisely Learning Network. Ms. Rand provides technical assistance outside the learning network as well and has offered her expertise to such projects as the advisory technical assistance committee for the Taking Action on Overuse project at Kaiser’s McColl Center for Healthcare Innovation, Vizient’s Shared Decision-Making Appropriate Use of Head and Back Imaging Tests Collaborative and American Society of Hospital Pharmacists’ 2018 Commission on Goals Opioid Council. She has presented on overuse at meeting such as IHI, the Families USA Health Action Conference and the ONC’s Annual Consumer Health IT Summit.   read more
