Senior Health IT Staff – Coalition Leadership & State ImplementationWant to contribute your skills to a team making tremendous impact on cutting edge health policy? The National Partnership for Women & Families is seeking a senior-level professional to lead our efforts to foster a network of sophisticated consumer advocates working on the federal, state and local levels with the Director of Health IT Programs. The successful candidate will provide input into the National Partnership’s health IT policy strategy, as well. She/he will lead and expand the Consumer Partnership for eHealth coalition; cultivate additional consumer leadership in advocacy around health IT issues; provide significant input into the development of coalition advocacy strategy and lead its implementation. This individual will also represent the consumer perspective in HITECH and health reform initiatives.The National Partnership is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that uses public education and advocacy to promote access to quality health care, fairness in the workplace, and policies that help women and men manage the dual demands of work and family. The effective use of health information technology (health IT) is a critical component of improving the quality of care and helping patients and their family caregivers be active participants in their care. The National Partnership is the leading consumer voice in national debates about how to most effectively implement new technologies in health care, and we are developing a growing network of consumer advocates in the states to ensure that local implementation efforts also benefit from robust consumer input.Responsibilities• Lead the Consumer Partnership for eHealth (CPeH).• Expand state-based health IT programming.• Cultivate coalition members for effective advocacy in work groups and committees.• Provide project management leadership for Health IT program work.• Plan and organize CPeH activities, including meetings, conference calls, webinars, etc.• Oversee maintenance and development of the National Partnership’s health IT website.• Develop and distribute resources for advocates and initiative leaders (e.g., emerging policy issues, fact sheets, tools and resources, blogs, etc.).• Represent NPWF on federal boards and bodies and in private sector efforts.• Provide staff support for federal advisory committee activities and external private sector meetings and committees.• Build and maintain relationships with federal agency staff and other relevant stakeholders.• Provide technical assistance to state-based advocates• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications• Deep knowledge and understanding of delivery system issues and health information technology required.• Ability to think strategically and creatively.• Experience with coalition management.• Master’s or advance degree required.• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.• Solid understanding of consumer interests in health care.Salary is commensurate with experience; a generous benefits package is offered.
