Cindy Cooke is a board certified family nurse practitioner from Huntsville, AL. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at the University of Alabama Birmingham with a focus on health literacy.
 
Dr. Cooke has been active in local, state and national NP organizations since her graduation and is currently serving as the president of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She was named a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners in 2009. Dr. Cooke is an in-demand speaker, having spoken locally, nationally and internationally on a variety of clinical and health policy topics.

Dr. Cooke is married and currently resides in Huntsville, AL. She enjoys family activities with their adult children and grandsons. When she is not traveling extensively to spread the NP message, she enjoys sports and singing in a female a cappella group. She is a member of numerous professional organizations including NANPA, NPAA and AANP.
