Dr. Amy Shaw is a board certified family physician. She attended the University of California, Davis School of Medicine and graduated from a UC San Francisco-affiliated Family Practice residency program in 1992. After 20 years of providing full spectrum family medicine, Dr. Shaw left private practice in 2011 to focus exclusively on caring for men and women with cancer. She now works alongside the oncology specialists at the Redwood Regional Medical Group in Santa Rosa, California where she developed a “primary care oncology” practice that screens for and treats lingering and late-onset effects of various cancer therapies. She strongly supports primary care providers in her community who want to remain closely involved with their patients throughout the cancer treatment continuum. Aside from addressing treatment-related conditions and being a resource for other doctors, Dr. Shaw provides individualized cancer treatment summaries and survivorship care plans so that each patient’s primary doctor will feel comfortable assuming the ongoing management of their patients once cancer therapies have ended.
