This course is designed for clinicians and health professionals who provide service to infants, children, and adolescents. Subject matter will be presented to the entire group in didactic lectures, panel discussions, and brief management problems; followed by question and answer periods. During some sessions, the course breaks into small seminars to explore areas of particular interest. The practice of general pediatrics requires a large knowledge base covering many areas of practice. Keeping up to date is a challenge.

Why does this happen?
Because healthcare providers and patients are busy. It may seem challenging to take on a new initiative like the Choosing Wisely implementation, even when it can decrease the prevalence of medical overuse. However, it will ultimately save time, lower costs, and most importantly, provide patients with the best, most appropriate care.
