Melinda K. Abrams, M.S., is Vice President of the Commonwealth Fund's Health Care Delivery System Reform Program. Since joining the Commonwealth Fund in 1997, Ms. Abrams has worked on the Task Force on Academic Health Centers, Commission on Women's Health, and most recently, the Child Development and Preventive Care programs. She played a lead role in conceptualizing and launching the Fund's Assuring Better Child Health and Development (ABCD) initiative, which awarded grants to state Medicaid programs to encourage innovation in the financing and delivery of preventive and developmental services provided to low-income, young children. Scott Van Valkenburg, MD is a senior manager in Ernst & Young’s Advisory Services practice. His experience is concentrated in health care delivery optimization, electronic health record integration, meaningful use, workflow and practice transformation, patient centered medical home, care management development, and analytics integration. Additionally, he has significant healthcare leadership experience as CEO/COO and CMO as well as experience in coordinating international interagency healthcare delivery. He has provided these services extensively throughout the federal health care sector at the community, national and international levels as well as private sector hospitals, physician groups and Accountable Care Organizations.
