HILL BRIEFING
9:30 AM - 10:30 AM ET
June 18, 2024
High-quality primary care is the cornerstone of an equitable and effective health care system. But too many Americans lack access to the high-quality, comprehensive primary care they need – because payment systems with misaligned incentives continues to underemphasize primary care and prevention.
Evidence supports enhancing primary care services to improve health outcomes and lower costs. To strengthen primary care and address growing provider shortages, federal policymakers are considering physician payment reforms that will advance value-based primary care in Medicare. These efforts build on continuing federal initiatives to test innovative, alternative payment models centered on accountability and care quality.
Join the Bipartisan Policy Center, The Commonwealth Fund and the Primary Care Collaborative or a discussion on primary care payment challenges and potential solutions policymakers can implement.
The panel will discuss existing hurdles in the American health care system and potential policy solutions that could improve the health of the nation by strengthening primary care.
