The School of Social Welfare offers an advanced policy course that addresses health care policy and implications for integrated health care policy and implications for integrated health care practices. Courses are offered at the graduate levels to provide students with communication, assessment, and intervention skills needed to provide services within the context of cultural competency. Students learn the impact of social policy on service provision and sources for systems change. Advanced coursework teaches practice with specialized populations and chronic conditions, interdisciplinary team functioning, and ethical practices in health care settings. The program also offers specialized paid field placements in health care settings with integrative approaches to medical services.
