Purpose of Course

This webinar is established for primary care providers and other health care providers, to assist them in learning how to incorporate genetic thinking into their everyday practice. Information will be provided on what the role of the primary care provider is in the provision of genetic medicine, and case studies will be presented to provide further examples of the importance of genetics in a primary care settinng.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Develop a clear understanding of the two basic categories of genetic variation/mutation
  2. Develop a basic understanding of the types of genetic testing used to identify these variants and describe the limitations of each methodology
