National Council's Advocacy Leadership Awards

The National Council, with support from Sunovion Pharmaceuticals, is pleased to recognize individuals and organizations who have done incredible work with behavioral health advocates in the community through the Advocacy Leadership Awards! These prestigious awards will recognize and celebrate individuals and organizations who are leading the charge to expand access to services and supports for individuals living with mental illness and substance use conditions. Award recipients will receive a $5,000 grant, to be provided to the non-profit organization of the honoree’s choice, all Hill Day travel expenses covered, and recognition at our annual Hill Day awards reception.

Awards will be given under three categories:

• The Award for Exceptional Individual Achievement in Advocacy honors an individual who has engaged in outstanding work in behavioral health policy and advocacy over the last year.
• The Award for Outstanding Organizational Leadership in Advocacy honors a behavioral healthcare organization that has demonstrated excellence in advocating for behavioral health policies.
• The Award for Visionary Leadership in Behavioral Healthby an Elected Official honors a state or local elected official who has engaged in exemplary efforts to promote positive behavioral health policies.

Applications must be submitted online by July 22, 2013.
