PCC Responds to CMS Proposals to Enhance Equity, Behavioral Health in Medicare Advantage

Noting the growing role Medicare Advantage (MA) and MA-focused practices now play in primary care, the Primary Care Collaborative (PCC) weighed in on the latest federal proposals support health equity, expand behavioral health access and streamline prior authorization in MA, in comments submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) yesterday.

PCC's comment letter

• Called on CMS to track the percentage of health care dollars that are dedicated to primary care across both Traditional Medicare and Medicare Adcvantage
• Praised CMS' efforts to incorporate health equity into MA's Quality Rating system, while emphasizing the need to work with stakeholders
• Provided comment on proposals to strengthen behavioral health in MA
• Urged CMS to minimize administrative burden on practices.
