Dr. Dixie Harms is a board-certified family NP and is also board certified in advanced diabetes management. She is employed at Mercy Clinics Internal Medicine West in Clive, Iowa, where she provides specialty care in diabetes and hormone therapy. As part of her employment, she has served on Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) Advanced Practice Leadership Council participating as a co-director, chair of Quality Committee and member of the Value Committee. Dr. Harms is a commissioner on the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner Certification Board, vice-president of the American Nurse Practitioner Foundation and a member of the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (JAANP) Editorial Board. She is clinical faculty for the University of Iowa College of Nursing and precepts NP students on a regular basis. read more
