The SHARE Approach workshop is a FREE, 1-day, accredited train-the-trainer program developed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Workshop participants will learn basic information on implementing shared decision making in practice, specific communication skills, dialogue with patients, and how to find and use patient-centered outcomes research (PCOR) resources in shared decision making.

The workshop is based on a five-step approach to shared decision making referred to as the SHARE Approach. It includes a comprehensive set of ready-to-use materials and a training curriculum to successfully implement the use of PCOR resources and shared decision making in varied health care settings.

The SHARE Approach workshop is offered multiple times a year across the country to train health professionals and practice leaders who in turn train others in their local health care settings and institutions.
