The Clinical Psychology Internship at Malcolm Grow Medical Center offers training in integrated primary care using a consultation model. Persons matched to the internship become active duty members of the United States Air Force with a four-year service commitment. One year is for the internship followed by three years serving as a psychologist in the Air Force. The internship offers a six-month rotation in outpatient mental health care and a six -month rotation in clinical health psychology.
Training in integrated primary care is a required mini-rotation for residents on the clinical health psychology service and includes approximately seven days of intensive training in primary care followed by approximately ten full days working as a behavioral health consultant in a primary care clinic. An optional advanced mini-rotation in integrated primary care is also offered.
