DO Day is a valuable opportunity for DOs and osteopathic medical students to educate members of Congress and their staff about the pivotal role osteopathic medicine plays within the U.S. health care system. Participants will have the chance to engage with lawmakers and ask them to support legislation that is vital to the practice and principles of osteopathic medicine.

Registration, training sessions and networking receptions are tentatively set to begin at 2 p.m. EST on Monday, March 4. Any registered participants who do not check in on Monday need to arrive no later than 5:45 a.m. EST on Tuesday, March 5. The day will begin with a breakfast briefing that includes presentations from guest speakers on how to best communicate with Members of Congress, as well as background info on the issues you’ll be discussing and the importance of representing the osteopathic profession on Capitol Hill. Following the briefing, you will go to Capitol Hill with your colleagues to meet with your congressional representatives throughout the day. DO Day activities and Congressional meetings will conclude by 7 p.m. EST on Tuesday, March 5.

The AOA has reserved a block of rooms at the JW Marriott that can be reserved at a discounted rate of $375 per night by booking online. The hotel is located at 1331 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, DC. Activities are tentatively set to take place at the JW Marriott at 2 p.m. EST Monday.
