PCPCC National Briefing: HIMSS Public Policy Initiatives in 2015: Using Health IT to Enable Healthcare Transformation

Jeff is the Senior Director of Federal & State Affairs at HIMSS. In this position, he leads HIMSS’ efforts to build stronger relationships with federal agencies and facilitates the building of a nationwide network of advocates for state-based initiatives that impact all aspects of health IT.
Before joining HIMSS, Jeff was the team leader for corporate accounts at the Marwood Group, where he worked with non-profit health systems, health IT vendors, professional societies, and trade associations, analyzing where they could most effectively influence legislative and regulatory processes and focus their advocacy efforts. read more

The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is focused on ensuring that health IT is helping to support healthcare transformation and the move toward value-based care delivery.
Jeff Coughlin, HIMSS’ Senior Director of Federal & State Affairs, will join the PCPCC on March 26 at 1 p.m. EST to discuss some of the major health IT public policy issues facing the community in 2015, specifically focusing on enabling interoperability and health information exchange from a regulatory as well as a legislative perspective. In addition, he will talk about the Meaningful Use program, some recent electronic health record adoption numbers, and where the program is headed with the soon-to-be-released Stage 3.
